Here are the 3 1100R's as I bought together:
The RC was equiped with a pretty loud 4 into 1 exhaust (made by Laser). The seatunit (very likely the whole bodywork) has been repainted but for some reason they did that blue striping way too thin. The seathump cushion was replaced by a blue one and rearmudguard shortened. I also found out it had an RB engine and carburetors. And it's one of the first RC's been build (framenr 12), it has a slightly different frontfork compared to later RC's.
First thing I did to it was putting a streetlegal silencer onto the Laser exhaust. I ran into an RC engine that was as good as rebuilt (according to the seller) and as it was pretty cheap and looked to be in good condition I bought it. Problem was the cylinderblock sticking onto the upper engine case caused by rusted studs. One was already broken when I bought the engine and one snapped when I tried removing it. Finally I managed to remove the cylinderblock. I checked a few things of that engine and found a long list of errors (none technically but the way it was put together, like no bolt onto the alternator-rotor or liquid sealant as oilpump gasket). I completely stripped it and rebuilt it with proper parts and how Honda tells me to do it. During the enginetransplant I replaced the exhaust system by 4 OEM Honda downpipes and Jama black chrome silencers.
Left side image shows the way to measure the crankshaft main bearings clearances. Middle image shows the engine before cylinderblock and head went back on and on the right hand side image the engine is mounted in the RC with as little as possible to have it as light as possible. What's not on it here can be installed with the engine in the frame.
This is how I installed the Jama silencers onto the OEM downpipes. Jama supplies an extension tube (chromed) that is supposed to be slid onto the downtube and the silencer slid onto the extension tube. No need to use it, I used a 5cm piece of it and instellad it over the downtube and then slid the silencer directly over it. Gastight and looks like original.
Somewhere along the process I replaced the rearshocks by other RC ones (compare the colour of the reservoir). I bought these shocks for my other RC but wanted to try them first. I also repainted the blue striping on the seatunit to get it as close to original as possibel. And finally I replaced the blue seathumpcushion by an original Honda one. Finally the bike is in a rather good condition but not pristine.
